"Progressive tennis" offers three programs for players from the age of 5 through to adults: Mini Tennis, the Junior Club and the Adult Program, which is currently in the trial phase. Using equipment tailored to the needs of the different categories of players, these new coaching methods make tennis easy and fun to learn.
Mini tennis
The Mini Tennis program is aimed at allowing 5-6 year-olds to develop their sports skills in a fun way, using scaled-down equipment (rackets, balls, etc.) and playing surfaces (such as smaller courts more suitable to children's' heights).
"Mini Tennis Festivals" are organized throughout France, bringing together 200 to 300 young kids along with club directors, instructors and parents.
5,500 clubs currently offer the mini-tennis program in France, with 85,000 already signed up.
If you would like your child to learn to enjoy the game quickly and easily, visit the FFT website to find out your nearest local club.
Junior Club

The Junior Club is designed for children between the ages of 7 and 18. Like Mini Tennis, the aim is to offer an easy, fun way to learn while also developing a competitive spirit and giving youngsters their first taste of club-based activities. In addition to coaching and competitions, the program also provides instruction in umpiring, and teenager members are encouraged to play an active part in the club. France counts 1,100 clubs which offer the Junior Club program, with 200,000 members.
Adult Program
This trial program has been introduced progressively since 2000. It offers three levels of play: "Beginner's Tennis", "Fitness Tennis" and "Advanced Tennis ". Far removed from traditional coaching methods, these new techniques allow adults of all levels to learn to enjoy tennis in a fun and easy way. In 2000, 13 regional leagues and 500 clubs began to offer this program.
