Handisport tennis

It is an American, Brad Parks who has the first launched tennis in wheelchair in 1976. In 1998, the International Wheelchair Tennis Federation - IWTF was created and integrated into the International Tennis Fédération (ITF).

Originally, the IWTF federated 8 nations. Today, wheelchair tennis is practised in more than 70 countries.

Since 1993, BNP Paribas chose to support this discipline by becoming one of the partners of the Internationals Handisport tennis of France (The equivalent of Roland Garros for the valid players) taking place in the Parc de Sceaux à Antony (92).

Since this date, the support of the bank for this discipline has evolved on a regular basis up to the signature of a global agreement with the Tennis Commission of the French Handisport Federation.

Thus, the Internationaux de France were named .BNP Paribas Open de France since then the individual and interclubs Championships of France have been organized under the label BNP Paribas official partner.
